Linking Sage Contact Manager to Sage Line 50 for Windows
Use the information given below to link your Sage Contact Manager program to Sage Line 50 for Windows on a Windows 95 Peer-to-Peer Network.
Sage Contact Manager has been specially designed to work directly with Sage Line 50 for Windows. This means that you can read and write data directly to and from Sage Line 50 from within Sage Contact Manager.
Requirements
To link your Sage Line 50 program with Sage Contact Manager you must:
Have exclusive network access to Sage Line
50 and Sage Contact Manager.
Be familiar with making modifications to your
computer system files.
Check that Sage Contact Manager is installed
on your network. For further details contact Sage Customer Support on

Common Drive Letter
When you configured Sage Contact Manager you setup a common drive letter. All workstations (Sage Contact Manager nodes) must have the Sage Contact Manager installed on the same path, e.g. G. For illustration purposes drive G: has been used. Wherever you see drive G: in these instructions, please insert your own common drive letter (for further details consult your Sage Contact Manager installer).
Preparing Accounts
1. Install your Sage Line 50 program in the G:\Program Files\Line50\ directory on the Server.
Note: You must install your Sage Line 50 program before you install your new Contact Manager program.
2. Install your Sage Line 50 accounts program into the C:\Program Files\Line50\ directory on all workstations (nodes) and connect to the data source in the G:\Program Files\Line50\ directory on your Server.
3. Check that the data paths in all of your COMPANY files are set to G:\Program Files\Line50\ in upper case (including the installation on the Server PC). To do this, use a text editor such as Notepad.
